Hello friends .    I have been working with gimp these days and from little online research i came to know that we can easily create the cartoons with photoshop and softwares similar to it just like gimp. You can colour your hand made cartoon in just few minutes. If you are new to this you may take a little time for first few time and then later on as you will get familier with the tools it will take the less time for you . So, here goes the step by step guide with images. Step 1 : Draw your diagram on a white sheet .  Use pencil , erasor scale etc etc to draw it neat . Draw the shadows and all possible things on paper. haha....I had drawn this from a pen as I was not able to find the pencil in my home and also I didnt rubbed the mistaken shaped. But you should. I learned to convert hand made cartoon in digital form using the GIMP. It can be donw using almost all the softwares. All you have to do is , draw a sketch from pencil /pen etc. Draw it complete and place the dialogue box and plan everything before. just like I did as shown in below given picture. Now scan it or better take a pic of it from the camera , i took the pic from the camera instead of scanning. Now , create a new layer and using the pen tool mark the lines ,curves as you drew. Yes it is time consuming but thats the perfect way of doing that. Then , close all the openings and erase the extra lines . Now your pic is ready to be coloured. Add a new layer and add the shades to your pic in red colour ....dont worry , we will change the colour later. Now merge the layer and delete the original pic . Its not an easy task to convert hand made sketch into digital form . But not even that tough. All you need to have is a picture editing software say adobe photoshop , GIMP , inkscape etc etc . many are available for free on internet. So all you have to do to convert your hand made picture into digital form is as followed. 1. Draw the pic in a plain paper. 2. Scan the pic , or these days high resolution cams are in phones , so just click the pic. 3. import or open the pic in the software . 4. Add a layer , and choose the pen and draw the curves on the pic , it will take a lot of time , draw the curves , line one by one and use brush and erasor wherever needed. 5. once the outlines are drawn , just ,hide the main pic . 6. Now colour the layer using the fill option  on which you have drawn . add shadings with the help of pensil and brush in light .
